Commissioning

Commissioning is a quality management process applied to verify and document the agreed-upon performance of buildings and installations throughout all phases of their life cycle.
Testing and performance assurance are essential components of the project. The objective is to conduct structured testing of all installations and ensure the quality assurance of the integrated systems is carried out correctly. This should be done as follows, using ISSO publication 107 as a guideline:

  1. Verification of Technical Design (TO);
  2. Verification of Execution-Ready Design;
  3. Factory Acceptance Test (FAT);
  4. Quality control during execution (continuous process);
  5. Commissioning (IBS);
  6. System interface level and system function test (SAT);
  7. Integrated System Acceptance Test (iSAT);
  8. Functional Performance Testing (FPT);
  9. Scenario testing of AHU with fire alarm signal;
  10. Evaluation.

Site Acceptance Tests (SATs)

The SAT focuses on the correct autonomous operation of mechanical, control, and electrical installations. The following aspects are important for the proper execution of the SAT tests:

  • Visual inspection (cleaning, pressure testing, etc.);
  • Functional test;
  • Start test;
  • Stop test;
  • Connection checks;
  • Parameter and settings verification;
  • Simulation setups for testing;
  • Testing operational scenarios according to the operational plan.
    Verstappen Engineering B.V. can act as the Commissioning Authority from the design phase through the implementation phase.
